Heights View is a bungalow of distinction with extensive landscaped gardens. It is situated just 3 miles from the foot of Windermere just off the main A590 and superbly positioned for major tourist attractions in the South Lakes area.Haverthwaite Steam Railway is directly across the road. The South Lakes Wild Animal Park, Aquarium of the Lakes and Grizedale Forest Visitor Centre are all within easy reach.
The Anglers Arms is only 100 yards away and serves excellent food together with cask conditioned ales. The Steam Railway also serves a range of excellent food including breakfast and is just across the road.
The bungalow is very spacious sleeping up to 7 plus 2 babies.
Heights View offers 1 king, 1 Triple, and a bunk room. In addition there is 1 large bathroom with shower over bath, a lounge, a second lounge, dining kitchen, conservatory with additional dining area.
Parking for 4 cars. Broadband Internet connection is included free of charge.
A security deposit of £150 is required per booking which is returned on satisfactory inventory after the holiday.

Originally a Victorian Country Farmhouse, it stands proudly by Ennerdale Water, one of the most spectacular and secluded lakes in the Lake District, Cumbria. The house itself has four acres of it's own land with pastures stretching down towards the lake. In the garden there is a feeling of peace with panoramic views of the high fells and the lake. The separate paddock has a bubbling stream that commences its journey in the mountains and finally into the lake.
Built more than 150 years ago, Routen House has been extensively refurbished and redecorated over the past few years. Spacious and sleeping 12 (plus cot) it is ideal for large family gatherings or for parties of walkers and friends.
The unspoiled, tranquil valley of Ennderdale is an ideal starting point for hundreds of walks - from gentle lakeside strolls to energetic mountain hikes (the views of Ennerdale and Buttermere lakes from the high fells are a stunning reward); rock climbing (a good base from which to approach Pillar); mountain biking in Ennerdale forest and fishing in the lake (permit required); pony trekking and quad-biking (available nearby).

Wildlife and landscape conservation are priorities at this National Trust farm which lies at the end of the metalled road. Only footpaths and bridleways continue into the fells. A perfect location for families, walkers, cyclists, bird-watchers and anyone needing to chill-out. Visitors are free to roam on 450 acres of farm woodlands and pastures.

Within 10 minutes drive is the pretty market town of Kirkby Stephen (shops, pubs, restaurants). A little further is Appleby. The Lake District is 45 mins away, the Howgills and Yorkshire Dales, much closer.

"Kiln Cottage", as the name suggests, is part of a former Malt Kiln dating back over 200 years and is situated adjacent to the picturesque Lancaster Canal. Colourful narrowboats pass the door, together with swans, ducks and moorhens, while the towpath provides opportunities for walking and cycling.
A short stroll along the canal towpath brings you to the village, where you will find the post office, general store, butcher, newsagent, churches and a couple of pubs.
